WASL Pavilion
WASL Pavilion is a contemporary civic pavilion located in Dubai, designed as a landmark structure that merges architectural expression with public gathering. The project explores fluid geometry and monumental form, creating a strong visual identity within Dubai's urban landscape. The architecture is defined by sculptural, column-like roof structures that rise and expand into expressive canopies — providing shade, framing open-air circulation, and establishing a sequence of spatial experiences from entry to interior courtyards. The pavilion's symmetry and axial layout reinforce its civic character while maintaining a sense of openness and permeability. Materiality emphasizes continuity and elegance, with smooth stone surfaces and warm integrated lighting accentuating the building's curves and structural rhythm. The visualization strategy highlights atmosphere and monumentality, using blue-hour and night scenes to express the interplay between form, light, and reflection.
As a competition entry, WASL Pavilion required imagery that conveyed monumentality and civic presence, expressing the sculptural roof structures and the sequence of spaces from entry to courtyard.
We used blue-hour and night scenes to dramatise form, light, and reflection — emphasising symmetry, structural rhythm, and the interplay between the canopies and warm integrated lighting.
The visualization expressed the pavilion's atmosphere and monumentality, strengthening the competition submission.
